If you look at the recommendations on the internet, you can see that the Monk Budget Hi-Fi Headphones are highly recommended and praised as great by many people. At the same time, I don't know what I expected from a $10 pair of headphones. Build quality is good for the price, can't expect much from something cheaper than lunch, it has quite a bit of extra foam. headphone cases, and the feel is solid even if everything is plastic or rubber. At least it looks like an improvement over what you'll find at the dollar store. The sound quality is excellent. not good. In my opinion not acceptable. Clarity is fairly grainy and the sound profile is heavily bass-heavy. Even if the bass is overemphasized, at least it doesn't crowd out the mids, it's just a grainy and somewhat loose bass. just me. I've tried with and without the earcups, trying to push the headphones into my ears as hard as possible to create a seal, and trying to hang them on the rims of the ears with no seal. The harsh graininess of the sound hasn't changed. The only thing I noticed is that without covers, but stuck in the ears through the gasket, the bass in the face intensified very noticeably. I've tried this with both the phone and a suitable basic Schiit DAC amp stack. Yes, I've heard worse, and yes, they're $10. They don't stand out positively from anything else in this price range. If you only have $10 this is a good choice, better than many other options in this low price range. Edit: add some pictures.
