Made of thin stainless steel, these scoops are a bit flimsy. Picking up the ice causes the spring mechanism to always bind instead of springing back and releasing the ice. Rather spend more money on a durable ice cream scoop. I may sound old, but "back then" a 1970's ice cream scoop was so strong and durable you could kill someone with it. This modern version is so thin you'll break your shovel before you injure yourself. *I do not encourage violence. Just to demonstrate the reliability of the product!
