I work in my recording studio with multiple devices connected to a pair of surge protectors with on/off switches. I've been doing this for a few years and it got to the point where it started to annoy me knowing I had to turn certain things off while others were on, but constantly turning those items on and off was a nightmare. Now that I've bought the Echo Dot along with Wi-Fi surge protectors, it's a lot easier to control things just by using the sound of your own voice. My workflow has become extremely manageable and I no longer have to do too many tasks between studio sessions.
