This magnifier is really good. Robust construction, all heavy metal parts with durable rubber coating. The folding parts are stiff, I don't see them coming loose anytime soon. This is useful when a handheld magnifier isn't stable enough, especially when you want to hold a small flashlight close to the sample. It also has a wide field of view and spherical aberration is minimal because it's such a wide lens and low magnification. Cons: When folded, the top of the lens is completely exposed. I recommend storing it in a small microfiber pouch or any case you like, especially if you plan on taking it into the field. If there was any kind of case involved,
