Foldable Topside Automotive Engine Creeper - Traxion 3-100 For Easy Maintenance Review

Decided to buy it and not improvise something after I slipped off the truck backwards one night out in the shop. Very stable and hardly any flex even when I'm hanging far out off the front of it. I can easily work twice as long in a session without being crippled afterward. I drilled extra height adjustment holes in the side rails and added better non-slip strips from the hardware store. Not perfect, but above average construction for made in China product.

I bought this overhead creeper to do a spark plug thread insert on a F150. The spark plug had blown out on number 3 cylinder which is partially under the cab. It would have been a very uncomfortable process not to mention timely but this creeper made the repair easy and quick. Highly recommended for any under hood work on trucks.

I purchased this Traxion 3-100-FFP Foldable Topside Creeper. I wish I had bought this creeper before I started working on my truck. Would have saved me from a lot of back pain! So far I have only used it to work on my Ford F350 but will be nice when I need to work on my Gmc Yukon and my 1/2 ton Dodge. It folds up nice and doesn't take up a lot of space in my garage. The wheels roll around nicely and then they lock into place when you are ready to work.

Pros:The height is adjustable which is a plus given that my truck is raised 6 inches. But it is on the highest level it goes, something to consider if your truck is lifted higher than 6in (an 8 in. lift may be fine without the tray)It’s very comfortable. Works very nicely. Packaging was terrible. The box was ripped open in many places. The bolts were inside a very, very thin plastic bag, which came ripped open, with nuts, bolts and washers spread through the packaging and several were missing.Luckily, I have an ice supply of fasteners on hand so it was easy to just keep going with the assembly but I should not have to use my own parts!

Anyone who has laid across the radiator, engine, or fender of any tall vehicle will absolutely love this product. No more hood latch poking a hole in your chest or crushing brittle wire connectors with your arms and hands. I recently purchased this to facilitate replacing the ignition coils (COPs) in my 2004 F150 --- not an easy job. However, this product made it so much more comfortable than the alternative. The quality is OK as are the instructions for assembly. As another reviewer mentioned,

First off, let me say, I really had to think whether to give this 4 or 5 stars. I would prefer to give this 4.5 stars. I have had my topside creeper now for just over a year. I use it all the time. If all you do is work on cars, you dont need one. However, I own an F350, and the wife drives a Tahoe. Now that I have it, I dont see how I made it this far through life without one. I wish they had added extra washers, as I like them all to have one. Also, the bolt to grab the cushion should have had a secondary hole to bebable to use the screwdriver straight through. Also, had a random staple already damaging the red cover.

Bought this to do the injectors on my 04 f250 with a lift. Absolute life saver! It is one of my favorite tools now. Only complaint is the same on that many have. The corner joint at the top will cut you or rip your clothes is you don’t modify it some how. I capped mine with a rubber bumper and that seems to do the trick. Very solid unit. I'm 6'2" roughly 205lbs and it holds me no problem; doesn't flex or bow at all, and I was actually very surprised how well the locking casters kept it from moving. I was expecting it to move slightly everytime I got off and on but it didn't budge. The leather tool holder was surprisingly helpful as well.

Easy to use and folds up fairly compact for storage. Its not the heaviest duty but for my needs of doing a job every now and then its perfect. If you have a taller vehicle like a truck or anything 4x4 this is a must have for doing any work on the top side of the engine.

Great product but you’re gonna need way more tools than what the instructions listed. It was easy to assemble. Instructions, labels and the product are of very high quality.

Pros: I am a big guy at 370 lbs and this thing held me with no problems. Wheels lock and hold everything in place. Worked very well. Had an issue with one caster wheel, customer support did not want to send a replacement for a bad part. I have already assembled all except the caster wheels. So I used it without caster wheels.This topside creeper is not the best one it has its own construction/design issues but it works to get job done.
