I only know about bead mats because I recently received informal training in jewelry making. One of the first things I learned after the basics was to use a bead mat to keep my beads from rolling around and falling on the floor. Well, that's exactly what he did. I accidentally hit them and they splintered, some fell to the ground. I used it to make my first bracelet today as a practice run. The carpet has not moved or slipped. But I'm a little mad at myself because when I tried to put a drop of jewelry glue on the knot of my bracelet, something fell on the mat, which ruined my impression. This did not affect the surface of the mat, but the white spot that is now on my mat is a reminder that I am new to the game. I think I'll buy a bigger rug and put that on top when I'm about to use glue. But next time I'll hopefully be more careful. Would I recommend this beaded rug? One hundred percent. I also like the ruler below and the millimeter sizes of the beads above. It's the best I've ever come across. But this is the first one I bought.
