Can't get the on/off timer to work

I was hoping this would do the trick for some Christmas lights. I have reset the timer 2 dozen times and it hasn't turned on/off at proper time once.

Pros

Was very easy to set up once I figured how to set it up

Cons

The product may require frequent calibration, which could be time-consuming and frustrating for users
