Make sure you can use this

Make sure you can use this. I installed this on a 2007 Honda CRV for towing. The owner's manual states that a specific fuse must be pulled when towing to prevent the battery from draining. This fuse is almost inaccessible, so the Fusemaster was a great (albeit expensive) concept. The installation instructions were fine, but real-world availability meant I couldn't fit the locknut onto the derailleur shaft. The hold I drilled was tight enough, but that was fine. It does exactly what it says on the tin - breaks the security circuit for the radio. By the way, with my CRV, if the radio ever goes off, I have to put in the security codes, then reset the time, etc. to use it again. Annoying but not deadly. HOWEVER, I also use the Brake Buddy system in my 'towed' vehicle and it needs to be plugged into what we used to call the 'cigarette lighter', now called the 12 volt outlet. And it's on the same circuit as the radio, which is the circuit controlled by the fusemaster. Summary: I spent a lot of money on a good product that I can't use. Recommendation: **Read your car's manual** and then take a TEST to make sure you can use it.
