Review on Acer V277U: 2560X1440P FreeSync Monitor with Adaptive Sync and V7 Speakers by Erik Campbell

Fantastic monitor at a great price!

I bought this monitor to replace a 10 year old 25 inch 1920x1080 monitor that finally failed. I figured I could somehow improve my performance by replacing it anyway and this Acer was perfect for all needs! I mainly use my computer for graphics work, but sometimes I also play games when I have time, and in both cases it's quite nice to have an increased resolution compared to my old monitor. Contrast also seems fantastic in comparison, being somewhat brighter (when on) and having darker blacks. I'm still figuring out the optimal settings as I want to use less blue light now since I can adjust it directly, but the display is quite yellow when the blue light is completely off, which isn't always acceptable when working on art projects. I didn't actually notice much of a difference when I went from 60Hz to 75Hz, but now that I'm using DisplayPort instead of DVI or HDMI, I'm hoping that will be the case in the future as new tech options become available. I have been using this monitor for 2 months and look forward to using it for many years. I might even consider replacing my 27 inch office monitors with two as they are 2k resolution and slightly smaller external size.
