Ordered a pair of trekking poles for our hiking trip this summer. They are very comfortable (love the cork handle), light, and I really appreciate the lever locks. I am also a photographer and I cant stand any tripods with the twist lock mechanism. The locks hold the extended sections no problem! No slippage if you read the directions on how to tighten them if necessary (no tools needed either). On the first available weekend after I got the poles, I tried them out on some trails near my home. It had just rained and it was a bit muddy, especially around the creek areas. The poles worked great at keeping my posture good and I really felt like I was moving faster. I have knee issues from college sports and the poles really helped! Even made crossing a creek easy peasy. Successful test!On the way back, while crossing back over the creek up the embankment, I slipped on the mud and tried to catch myself with the pole. My foot slipped, the pole sunk deep into the mud and my body weight flew forward, bending the bottom section of an aluminum pole almost 60 degrees. After getting up, I bent back the pole slightly on a nearby tree and finished my hike (later I was able to bend it back enough to retract again)When I got back, I emailed customer service and asked if there was any way to buy either just the bottom section or a whole single pole. They asked for a pic of the damage and offered to send me a whole new set! They really stand behind their product and the new poles came in 2 days later!I would order Foxelli products without hesitation next time!
