I bought this as an extra backup of important data on my laptop. I have another (safe) way of backing up this data, but if I didn't I would certainly buy two of these (and keep them in different places!) to be really safe. Love the fact that even if someone breaks into my office/house and steals it, the hardware encryption works - very hard to crack unless you're a big gamer haha. One thing: the instructions are very cryptic! For example, it doesn't say anywhere how to lock data again, what the inactivity timeout is, whether you can simply unplug the USB stick at any time, etc. etc. I'm a technical user and still find the missing information annoying. ! Otherwise a great little device.
