Let's face it, the food processor isn't just an all-rounder anymore. Thanks to (largely) Kitchen Aid, we now need a functional and beautiful blender. It's a culinary status symbol; an object of desire, like an expensive espresso machine or a sponge grinder. This blender ticks all the boxes. It works exactly as it should and looks fantastic doing it. It has a nice, clean, retro look, and the color finish - a subtle buttery yellow - is simply divine: it's like the soft sunshine of every dreamy childhood summer. . The faucet is made from die cast alloy and not plastic as you would expect at this price point. It's reassuringly heavy and sits well on the countertop. The controls are very simple: a toggle and a speed dial. The beauty of this dial is that while it's marked zero through ten, it's actually variable, giving you a wide range of speeds available. Whisks, spatulas, dough hooks and more) NOT dishwasher safe. They're made of aluminum with a shiny finish that will wear away in your dishwasher's harsh chemicals. However, if you forget and end up with less shiny tools, they're still food safe - they're just not bright and shiny anymore. -off doesn't fit perfectly. It stays in place but can be fitted closer to the mixer body. You'll see in some of the product photos that the front panel doesn't match this mixer perfectly either - it sticks out a bit at the top - so I suspect this is a common design flaw. It's not really a problem, just a little disappointing. So if you picked this blender because you want a good machine but are also attracted by its looks, I think you should go ahead and buy it. You won't be disappointed either way.
