I was looking for a bedside table that can carry my 17 inch laptop and allow me to sit in bed and on the couch and work on the laptop. It's real wood, as I discovered when I sanded it down with coarser sandpaper to make it a bit sticky. Overall, this is a well-made, durable tray table that will likely last a long time with good care.It served my purpose as a bedside table that I could use for my laptop from the comfort of my bed.
