Review on πŸ’¨ 1500-Watt Handheld Steam Cleaner by PROlectrix with Generous 400ml Water Tank by Keith Aluguvelli

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worked great. Until it broke after 1 week!

I reviewed dozens of portable steamers before I bought them. When I stumbled across this one, I realized that I could only find a few reviews. One on Amazon gives a great review, another negative comment on Amazon is just ignored because they didn't even buy it. I found another positive example on overstock.com. I was surprised at how many mixed reviews there were for brands like Shark and I almost got the McColloch MC1235 but after watching the shopping video I could see water dripping everywhere! So I took a chance and got this one and I'm so glad I did. So here are the pros: 1500w of power, I never have any dripping water except when I plug it in and there is some water in the line. while it is being heated but never used! The range of most portable devices is 900-1300 watts, so you can't beat the performance. I spent 4 hours straight in my mother's horribly untidy and unkempt kitchen with grease and food splattering EVERYWHERE. Ceiling, walls, cabinets, whatever. It's her own fault but I wanted to make this baby work and thought it would be a great test run. I couldn't believe the results! Have also used it to iron REALLY wrinkled dress pants. Worked almost as well as an iron. Cushioned sofa and upholstery. Doesn't work very well on old stains but will remove the odor. Haven't tried grout yet, but that's next! - The 400ml tank holds twice as much as most other portable devices. - Price, I was on a budget and wanted to get the best bang for my buck. I found this steamer sold for $125 but got it brand new through the same ebay seller for $45! i can't win - Heats up very quickly, 30 seconds. and immediately ready for use. -Style isn't that important, but I like the modern look. -Lots of attachments for different jobs. -Works from any angle. This bothered me because we live in an RV with soft blankets and I wanted to steam clean them. Water is supplied through a metal hole at the end of a flexible rubber hose located in the water tank. So gravity pulls the weighted end to the same place it pulls water to if you tilt, tilt, or even hold it upside down. On one occasion I had no steam but there was water in the tank but I noticed the hose was stuck and not moving with the water. All I had to do was rock him and he moved into the water. never mind Cons: - The thumb pump/button wears out the hand quickly. If you use it for a long period of time (I do) your hand will tire not so much from the weight as from your thumb pumping. I would have liked an on/off switch for continuous steam. You have to pump every 1-2 seconds. - You will not get standard quality, but a standard instruction manual. You must have pulled some instructions from another model as not all match the descriptions. And not as detailed as I would like. - I didn't quite understand the pump cycles. It's probably partly due to the lack of instructions, but the pump is activated with a thumb button. When you turn it on, a yellow light will illuminate to let you know it's heating up. Green light indicates readiness. It means holding the button down a bit to activate the pump, and then pump again every 1-2 seconds to make this automatic pump draw more water to activate more vapor. Works well but almost every time I use it again after putting it down for a minute the pump turns on after pressing the button and then stops for a few seconds before turning on and spraying for about 10 seconds . Continuous steam without pressing a button. After that, it will return to normal vapor atomization only after pressing the button. Weird, but still works well, and still I like it. ***Update*** After a few days of use, the yellow indicator started flickering and went out very badly. The machine was still working, but after 4 days, during use, the tank slowly began to leak, then something banged in loudly and steam came out of the seams! He began to emit a burning odor as water and steam clearly seeped into the car. I've used it extensively, but still it shouldn't break like that. Uhhh! Don't buy if you intend to use a lot!
