I have this paired with Apple Smart Cover on the iPad Pro 10.5 and it looks great and works well. Coming from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, which had a very nice Samsung flip case. I wanted something similar for the iPad, but none of the aftermarket options I tried worked until I tried this combo. I received a case with black borders and my original smart case was anthracite. The gray color didn't go well with the black case trim or the black trim on my iPad. I ended up buying a black leather smart case that goes perfectly with this case. The case is pleasant to the touch and has a pleasingly professional look. The buttons fit me perfectly, all the cutouts are correct. I love how the smart lid fits perfectly and clicks into place when closed. Some have mentioned that you have to use your nails to open it due to the perfect fit. I agree, but it's not difficult and doesn't annoy me. I have short nails and have no problem catching the edge. An easier way to open it is to push the lid back a bit, which is easy to do with a soft pad. Then you can easily grab the edge. I usually take the pill with my left hand and push the lid back slightly with the thumb of that hand. I then use my right hand to grab the edge and now it's easy to open. The main reason I'm writing this review is to add some information that I haven't been able to find in other Smart Cover reviews. I wanted to know if it is comfortable to hold when folded around the back and if the magnets work. I have to say it feels nice when folded and the magnet sticks to the back of the case. The magnet isn't as strong as the front, so don't expect it to snap as easily. Just fold it up, making sure it touches and should stay in place for the most part. TPU/rubber trimmings on the sides make it easier to hold and provide additional grip. The camera also appears to be protected by a case, which is a nice plus. The only real downside I have at the moment is that the back is slick. That means it glides across a table or smooth surface. You could make the TPU corners rubberized to add some grip.
