The moka coffee maker makes coffee I can't deny that. I went with the cheaper one to see if the quality matched the price and it does. The strainer that holds the coffee is very thin and badly stamped. You will need either good nails or a knife/fork to take out the strainer. The steam valve does not hiss at all. If you don't follow the bank you will def. light the pan and cook. The spout on the pot is too pointed and won't let you drink water easily. You should hold your mug/cup over the sink as 1/4 to 1/3 of the coffee you brew will drip down the sides of the pot. I'm not sure if these issues occur with higher priced/quality products. I am satisfied with the coffee that was able to reach my cup. I am generally dissatisfied with the quality and functionality of the product.
