So I originally used them as stronger magnets to hold documents (orders with pending invoices, shopping lists, fulfillment requests, etc.) at work. I have a shelf with a metal rod at about eye level where my desk is, and it serves as a shelf for things I don't want to forget. So I have a magnet that is fine until you start getting a few pages thick and then it doesn't work so well and I need something stronger. I wasn't sure how durable they would be until I took them out of the box. After gluing literally EVERY METAL within a 2" radius (no kidding, it took me 5 minutes to get enough pencils and paperclips to take a picture) I finally attached them to my tape measure, which I didn't even do knew they were magnetic until these little fellas showed up. They are POWERFUL even though they are small. You could even say they are aggressively magnetic! It takes some serious effort to pull them apart and god help you if you let them hold together without the little plastic spacer rings that come with the kit. I had to get a small door panel tool to take them apart again without damaging the magnet itself. The downside (and why they unfortunately don't work for my particular application) is the size; OK. They're 1/16" thick and 1" in diameter and come with 3M adhesive pads that stick to a magnet pretty damn well, but if you're going down this route for an installation/project don't expect to mount them with ease get out . I'll find another use for these guys, but I'm still looking. 10/10 Great magnets!
