Bought back in December, worked fine until April. Microsoft released a Windows update that impacted this dock's ability to use USB C to DisplayPort. To be clear, when I connect USB to Displayport directly to a Microsoft Surface Pro X (I have a new 2020 version), it works fine. I have: 1. Turned off and restarted the device (both docking station and tablet)2. cleaned the registry keys from their website using a Microsoft script3. Erased the dock's firmware and tried to update it again.4. Called Microsoft and asked them to REPLACE THE TABLET. This worked until a Windows update was installed, after which it stopped working again. The next step is to replace the docking station. This is not a good solution, even if it works. Because as soon as there is no longer a guarantee, I have to live with it if another Windows update breaks it. This has been happening on other Surface tablets for over a year and NOW it's affecting the Pro X range as well. Seems they managed to port a "bug" in their software to the ARM64 architecture. By the way, make sure you keep the box from the dock, or at least the serial number on it, because if you lose it, throw it away, you might not be able to get it under warranty. How they got me to take a picture of SN to send to them. This is a matte dark gray font on a matte charcoal background that is impossible to photograph. If I hold the flashlight at the right angle, I can read it. However, at the moment they have not answered me whether reading SN works for them. The Surface TABLET works great. but if you buy one and plan on using it with this one to get a second (or even just a larger monitor for home/work use), find another dock. I will edit this review if Microsoft ever fixes this issue. UPDATE A: I have now used a second tablet in an attempt to troubleshoot this driver issue with Microsoft. The latest update from Microsoft broke that as well. Remember that the dock works fine as long as you never update it. Then I sent a THIRD tablet... which they said was completely refurbished and ready to go AND would work with the surface dock. All of that was wrong. It was shipped in its original packaging THEN Windows doesn't start the second day I try to turn it on. It doesn't even boot the rescue disk or the BIOS. The surface is completely bricked up. Just don't do it if you have a surface pro X return it if you still can, if you can't I wish you the best of luck with yours If you send them to me I'll lose $2,000 on my entire setup . I tried to write an additional review about the Surface Pro X myself, but I didn't buy it from Revain and they got a lot of "fancy" reviews on it, so they only accept reviews from verified purchases. I suspect the usual reviews probably relate to the above. PLEASE DO NOT BUY!
