The TOTU 13-in-1 Type C Hub works. That's not true

It's been a long time since I've been disappointed with a product. I have a Surface Book 2. It just doesn't work. I only have 2 external 1080p monitors and a keyboard connected to them. It does not reliably output the signal to the monitors. Strange, everything worked for me at first (this is my second hub as I thought the first one was DOA) as intended and then after a reboot nothing worked, not even the keyboard. The keyboard works again after the reinstallation, but the monitors are not…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other models

Not very portable - Notebook Accessories

Not sure if I have a broken one but when I connected it to my Surface Pro 7 it crashed. The computer became very slow and the mouse started responding intermittently. I disconnected the dock, rebooted and everything was back to normal. I thought this one would be more portable, but the dock itself is very heavy, and the power adapter is even heavier, so it's not very portable. I may have underestimated it because I thought I could carry it with me instead of turning my laptop into a real PC, so

Worked great on my Surface Book 1 - even using USB-C is great!

I have an original Surface Book 1 and I'm very jealous that my device doesn't have a USB-C port. I saw the new dock (I had the original dock) and decided to try it and see if it worked. I was very happy that the USB-C ports worked - and better yet, they worked on a 4K portable touchmonitor I have that uses a USB-C port. I was able to run 2 4k monitors via 2 USB-C ports on the main side of the dock. My previous dock was pretty good at running two 4k monitors and while this one required me to…

A Windows update removes the ability to use a second monitor

Bought back in December, worked fine until April. Microsoft released a Windows update that impacted this dock's ability to use USB C to DisplayPort. To be clear, when I connect USB to Displayport directly to a Microsoft Surface Pro X (I have a new 2020 version), it works fine. I have: 1. Turned off and restarted the device (both docking station and tablet)2. cleaned the registry keys from their website using a Microsoft script3. Erased the dock's firmware and tried to update it again.4. Called…

  • 199W AC adapter; longer Surface Connect cable (80 cm).
Cons
  • Some bugs

Suitable for Surface Go 1

TL:DR - This works for MS Surface Go Gen 1! USB C to HDMI seems to work with regular and good quality USB c to HDMI devices. Everything seems to be working as expected. Connect, install drivers and get started!. A reboot might be necessary. The dock itself has a soft rubber(?) pad on the bottom to reduce slipping. inches, so your laptop or tablet doesn't have to be stowed next to the docking station. The Ethernet port works as expected. You add two monitors! Would recommend if you need more…
