It's been a long time since I've been disappointed with a product. I have a Surface Book 2. It just doesn't work. I only have 2 external 1080p monitors and a keyboard connected to them. Not sure if I have a broken one but when I connected it to my Surface Pro 7 it crashed. The computer became very slow and the mouse started responding intermittently. I disconnected the dock, rebooted and everything was back to normal. I thought this one would be more portable, but the dock itself is very heavy, and the power adapter is even heavier, so it's not very portable. Bought back in December, worked fine until April. Microsoft released a Windows update that impacted this dock's ability to use USB C to DisplayPort. To be clear, when I connect USB to Displayport directly to a Microsoft Surface Pro X (I have a new 2020 version), it works fine. I have: 1. TL:DR - This works for MS Surface Go Gen 1! USB C to HDMI seems to work with regular and good quality USB c to HDMI devices. Everything seems to be working as expected. Connect, install drivers and get started!. A reboot might be necessary.
