Review on ASUS PCE AC88 AC3100 802 11AC Adapter by Jayshawn Webb

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I wish I could give this a higher rating

Thought I'd finally update this in a year or so, the drivers seem to be working fine. It connects automatically at boot and works well at 5GHz. Must be a Windows fix as I haven't updated the Asus driver since installing it. I hope this continues. Original Rating: I wish I could give a higher rating. Because when it works, it works well. It can definitely provide the desired speed. Unfortunately, the 5GHz portion of this product isn't that good. And it's a radio that I'm sure most people will want to use. But read first. My system has an incredibly annoying compatibility issue: when I have two monitors set up, it will NOT connect at 5GHz. He sees it and tries to connect, but "Cannot connect to this network". If I disable the secondary screen, it reconnects immediately and provides speed. I can then reattach the secondary screen and 75% of the time it will continue to work. It will not deliver the remaining 25% over the Internet. And sometimes blocks network settings. After HOURS of research, it turned out to be a compatibility issue with Windows 10 and ASUS drivers. No matter how many reinstalls and driver updates I've tried, it doesn't solve this problem. ASUS customer support is practically useless. It is recommended to uninstall the product, remove the drivers, reinstall the product and reinstall the drivers. Too bad I didn't send it back within the return period. But I decided to investigate it. 3 months later and still no solution. System Specs: i7 6700kMaximus VIII HeroSLI EVGA 980tiRipjaws V 16GB RAM. I've tried HDMI cables, DVI to HDMI cables, and various display outputs. Everywhere the same problem. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate an answer! But judging by the many reviews, I'm not the only one having problems. Unfortunately I can't attempt to remove the GPU as this is a fully custom water-cooled setup. Inserting a wireless card is quite difficult there.
