Love the tripod. It has a back-to-front layer, but not left-to-right. It's lightweight and fits my S8 with Otter case easily. Vertical range is very good and stable even at maximum open when my camera is mounted on the side to take portrait (not landscape) photos. The remote control works with most cameras, but not with my S8. It simply approaches (instead of retreating) along with the camera. No photo is taken. Strangely, when the camera app is closed, the camera app also works for volume up (but not down). I'm disappointed with the remote control but what I needed most was a good tripod and I got it. Oh, I appreciate the tote bag.
