Misleading and potentially more dangerous than traditional antiperspirants

My mother and grandmother had breast cancer and luckily survived it. After my mother was diagnosed, we began making lifestyle changes to reduce the risk; Switching to a natural deodorant was one of the changes. I was very happy with the Crystal deodorants because they seemed to work in contrast to other natural deodorants. I used them daily for about 3 years (spray and roll-on versions) until the day I read the ingredient list and saw: Potassium Alum. I started looking for information about the safety of aluminum salts and came across the Crystal website. They claim that the salts are too high to be digested. I'm a biochemist and have taken many chemistry courses, but it's not even necessary to understand that salts dissolve in water or other solvents, so actually put ions (tiny and easily absorbable) on the skin. I got rid of my deodorants and went back to looking for a good natural one. This page provides useful information about the alum salts in Crystal Deodorant: http://chemicaloftheday.squarespace.com/most-controversial/2010/3/8/exposed-more-truts-about-alum.html.
