Review on πŸšͺ 32.8ft Long Garage Door Weather Stripping - Top and Sides Rubber Seal Strip Replacement, Universal Sealing Professional - Weatherproof White by John Hashman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Powerful, good wide wiper on the garage door. Installation may not be trivial.

I didn't have side and top seals so dust and snow blew into the garage. This solved that problem. This *could* be installed with the 1/4" narrow head nails or staples I used. But there are several reasons this probably isn't a good solution. It just doesn't look good. I wouldn't trust paint on rubber , and you have these shiny dots along the way. Worse, it flexes with every nail since the door has to push against it. On the way to what I did below, I installed it like this and then opened the door and closed but I didn't like the way it looked. Best way is to cut out the wooden board that holds it. Width 1 3/8" but you can have more or less. On the back, I cut a tapered (i.e. sloping to match the slope of the rubber) tab (notch, groove, etc.) on the back to match the short side of the rubber strip. I stapled the rubber to the door frame, then placed a piece of wood over the rubber and stapled it together. I have a pneumatic stapler with a narrow will work just fine. I painted the wood but not the rubber. Because the wood holds the rubber in place, the finished product will not have creases. I just installed it today, so it's impossible to say how long-lasting it will be. It seems pretty flexible and heavy, so I'm optimistic. However, the door keeps rubbing against her, who knows? No, for the setup I made, this is the perfect thing.
