My item was new, but I spent $70 to let the retailer "try" the keychain only to spend $300 to order a new keychain. The total cost is $16 for the fob, $70 for the programming attempt, a new $300 fob plus $26 shipping, and an additional $70 to program a new fob. Lesson - don't be cheap.
