I wanted a bass piano that my 3 month old could grow into and enjoy. She's starting to kick a lot and become more attuned to her surroundings and I was hoping this music notebook would be a hit. It's a bit dated at this point, but we still get very good use of it in our home. Pros: The device is about the size of a sheet of paper and is fairly light, meaning it's easy to move and store. The buttons are large, bright and easy to see. I like the carry handle. There are two volume options, and there's a variety of sounds and music playing. The music and noises this toy makes aren't particularly sweet or soothing, but they're not annoying either. There are small fabric ties on the back of the device that you can use to attach it anywhere. maybe a bed? But I can't think of any other way to use these wounds. Aside from the ligaments, the device doesn't shrink on its own, so I'm really not sure how I'd be able to let my kid kick it without just holding it for her. The keys are a bit clunky. They're easy to squeeze, but they also make a clanking noise that makes them look like a cheap toy. I've been playing around with this for a few days, and since I haven't read any of the instructions, I still haven't quite figured out what the three buttons in the corner do, exactly. It's not obvious. They appear to allow buttons to start/stop the music, but otherwise it's a mystery and a surprise as to what it will do. I only mention this because children should feel the same way. I would like the buttons to be labeled or more clearly what they do (e.g. you can play music, you can make animal sounds, etc.). Hit the buttons with your hands. As a parent, I find that normal. As a toy for creating music and sound, I would choose it because the design is beautiful and the sounds are pleasant. However, there are a few things such as B. chunky buttons that make me prefer some of our toys over this one. I wasn't entirely thrilled, but it's a lot better than a lot of other toys.
