Review on Orion Motor Tech Refrigerant Puncturing by Josh Thompson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best budget option I could find and it works.

They fit me perfectly. I've never charged a car air conditioner before, but I'm an engineer and honestly I knew what I was doing. The low pressure gauge has been calibrated to about 10% but that doesn't matter - honestly you don't need a reading on the gauge, just the divisions and it has them. The hoses worked perfectly and did not leak at all. The car power adapters were scratched and beaten to death on arrival - obviously a return - but they worked great and I don't care how they look as long as they work. The adapters are held in place by the system pressure. Someone before me had one, but they didn't realize that all you have to do is close the valve on the adapter, then depressurize the outlet side (from the filler port) and they will actually fall off. Of course you can also take a 3 foot pry bar and slip it under the appropriate holder and then jump on it to overcome the 200psi of gasket pressure and if you survive send it back to Revain as defective. My point is that they put a check valve in the connector and you have to pay an extra $10,20,100 to get it. Don't buy the cheaper direct quick connect options unless you have a 3ft crowbar and don't want to hurt yourself with zero chance of getting rich as they are all made in China. In general, don't buy cheaper if you don't have a valve coupler. You will do everything you need to do at least once.
