Bought two of these. I mostly drive alone and listen to podcasts. It's a lot better than sticking headphones in a helmet and hoping they don't fall out while riding. Taking calls is a nice bonus I think. I checked it out, sounds good, but I'm going to bike to... . . go out by bike. But for podcasts and casual music it sounds good, feels better than earphones to my ears, and the battery life is great. I have a second if I have a passenger. I installed it on my spare helmet and tested it several times. Sounds great, but the problem is that the devices seem to forget each other on every ride. As far as I can tell, you have to hold down the power button when they're paired. It will make noise and you hold onto it. It makes another beep and then turns off. If you don't hold it long enough (easy to do after you've been driving for a while and your hands are cold or stiff, or if you just have a little cramp and move your finger a little), it loses connection. The only way to re-pair is to delete all saved connections (i.e. pairings with my phone) on both devices and then re-pair to intercom and then to phone again. Which isn't that important, except that it's a bit difficult to pair the devices in intercom mode. I have never been able to do this while away from home. Before and/or after a ride, I have to bring both helmets into the house, clean all connections, place them next to each other and press pairing on both helmets at the same time. There's no room for error. Installation is tricky and you'll probably want to see how much of your helmet's padding can be removed. I tried hard mounts on both helmets but they didn't work with the curves of the helmets. Even with a soft mount, there is a very limited number of places you can mount the control module where it will not flex too far to fit the clamp. However, I doubted it would hold up well on a soft mount due to the curvature, but after a few months there were no problems. Shit. On my main helmet, it was easy to remove all the pads to install the speakers/mic. Putting it back together was more difficult as the padding snapped back into place. The wires aren't large, but if the latches are close enough together, it's difficult to get them back in place if you run a wire between them. With the optional helmet, not all of the padding came out and I currently only insert the wires where the padding touches the rim of the helmet. I used a hard plastic bondo scraper to push the wires through just enough so they don't fall out and so far so good. I mean you only have to install it once but it took MUCH longer than I thought to install it in both helmets. Overall it's great to be able to listen to music just for pairing a phone without putting anything in your ear. The intercom seems to have the functions reversed - a short press turns it off, a long press resets the connections. Once paired, it works fine, but setting up the pairing and keeping it paired hasn't worked so far.
