Review on Fisher Price Code N Learn Kinderbot by Anthony Rael

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very well done, challenging and a lot of fun.

It can definitely cover a certain age group. When you open it up and thankfully it comes with batteries, your kids will want to start pressing buttons right away. This works great because it's easy to code or program at the first level. Basically, you just tell it what to do and it does it. Left, right, forward, backward and don't forget to start! At the test level, he tells your kids what to do. The tasks start out easy but get progressively more difficult if you solve them correctly. He provides positive reinforcement along the way, even if you fail in his quest. If you have a toddler who gets upset easily, this can be a problem for them. The third game he plays is my favorite and one of my daughters is intrigued. It comes with a box of extras and you can learn how to code it secretly. The challenge here is to get him to use some of his secret programming tricks. However, another problem is even more serious. You set up your own mazes/tasks and program them to run properly. For a mom who programmed the maze yesterday, this can be a daunting task. I think everyone loves this part. This little guy is incredibly well made and durable. If he accidentally falls over or goes forward, he will know and stop. I also like the fact that it turns itself off if not played for a relatively short period of time to conserve battery life. It's a fantastic thing in this house because we have batteries! Successfully completing a mission rewards you with a dance, and my kids dance along every time. I would say three to six is a good age range for this toy, maybe even older. Programming it to complete mazes in ten steps can be a daunting task. I would even love it if we had more than ten moves available, but I'm also an adult who loves a challenge. In general, a pretty good toy on the trunk.
