Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very good option for people on a budget.

, I'm poor - somehow. Anyone who has a Revain Prime account is not necessarily poor! I don't have much money to spend on what you want. So when I was considering Bluetooth devices for my motorcycle helmet, I knew the Cardo I wanted was out of the question. After all, I'd rather save up for a better bike than spend it on an expensive Bluetooth. FreedConn T-COMVB was an excellent choice. I ordered/paid for it on Friday evening and received it on Sunday afternoon. After charging it while doing a few other chores, I was able to easily install it in my HJC-CL-17 helmet. I will say that the design of this particular helmet makes cable routing more difficult and the screw clip just doesn't fit the thicker helmet shell. Incredibly strong "sticky tape" perfectly copes with this task. I installed the device in about 10 minutes and was good to go. Please make sure you are ordering the correct type of microphone. I made sure to get a soft cable mic, not a boom mic. It fits snugly under the chin area (I didn't have a chin curtain installed). Before installing it in the helmet, I checked the connection of the device with the phone, in case it doesn't work for some reason. At first I couldn't connect, but then I realized that the phone wouldn't connect when connected to my portable bluetooth speaker (another great product is Anker Soundcore). As soon as it was turned off, it immediately connected and started working. I confirm that the speakers are not as loud as I would like, but they are sufficient. The only thing I haven't been able to hear yet is really smooth classical music. Moderately loud music and podcasts sound pretty good. I was able to hear the radio when I accidentally turned it on and played with it for a minute, but since I rarely use the radio I didn't fully test this feature. The helmet is comfortable to ride as my bike does not have cruise control. However, the controls in this position are initially illogical. Increase the volume by turning the top of the wheel toward the back of the helmet. Track and channel changes work the same way. But it works fine, so there are no problems. If it were different, it would be a good update in future versions of the device. However, it is fully functional. I can easily operate the controls when wearing gloves. There are only two buttons you can press and spin the wheel. It's all very easy, even with gloves. Disappointing to only be able to call the last phone number but I knew that beforehand and ordered it anyway. Either way, stopping to recruit the right person isn't so bad. Speaking of phone calls, I called my mom and spoke to her for a few minutes without telling her I ride a motorcycle. She had no idea what I was. I once told her she couldn't hang up fast enough! The noise cancellation is amazing. My wife also confirms that the calls are going well. After receiving, charging, installing and testing on Sunday afternoon, I went straight to the hospital. On the way home I got caught in the rain on a motorcycle for the first time. The device is waterproof and works like new even when wet. I've used it to listen to podcasts and it never missed a beat. If you can't tell, I'm very happy with my purchase. Money well spent, but not overspent. Hoping to benefit from it for many years. The hardest part of this device is learning and remembering the different control inputs. Somewhat hard to remember options. The most important ones are already memorized, but the lesser-used options still require a manual to figure out. UPDATE - After almost a year of use and I use it every time I drive I am still very happy with it. to buy. Once it's on, it connects to my phone with no noticeable lag. The connection never breaks. I haven't worked with the radio function yet. It never fell out of its mount and the double-sided tape still holds tight. In terms of battery life, I get a ton of travel time with this one. It will start beeping every 20-30 seconds when the battery is low, but will continue to beep for a while after that. It seems to fully charge in 2-3 hours, but I've never seen the charge indicator change color. I still wish I could press a button and Siri would work, but that's not available. There is a delay when adjusting the volume as you have to hold down the wheel for the volume control to work. However, when it starts to change volume, it's a slow change and it doesn't go from full volume to mute in a split second.
