I received the package in good condition. The main use of this product was in the fermentation of wort, but instead ended up in the storage of tap water (drinking water supplied by a large metropolitan area). Before use, I rinsed this container with tap water and filled it with water overnight. Tap water has a chlorine taste at the time of writing this review and leaves a limescale residue after evaporation. At the same time, I fill this container with drinking water and drink most of it. I left about 1/2 inch of water in the container. After a few days, the remaining water will have a different taste and this container will have a fragrant smell. The smell wasn't unpleasant and unfamiliar with the taste and smell, so I threw away the rest of the water. I've been putting 3 gallons of water in it for a week currently to see if the taste and smell goes away. This is the second time I've added some water to this item for a few days, it still has a taste, I don't know how to describe it. .How: It looks and feels durable. Take good care of it as this is a glass product although it looks like it could take some punishment.
