Sold in addition to the Canon EOS-M6. Conclusion: do not disturb. No better than the camera's own microphone. If you leave the camera on automatic gain control, the noise becomes totally unacceptable. Turning the gain down manually will give you good audio, yes, but then again it's no better than the camera's own mic and requires extra fiddling. I bought it for recording video tutorials and presentations and for general use. I tested it for this use and also routed it to other audio sources like music playback, long distance traffic, ambient noise sources etc. Tested with different gain levels and in automatic mode. I wasn't expecting a $60 jump in quality, but I was expecting something. I returned it.
