Review on Asus VP228QG: 21.5-Inch Screen Monitor with πŸ–₯️ 1920x1080p, 75Hz, Blue Light Filter, Built-in Speakers, & More by Craig Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As of August 2012, still a good choice for a 24-inch 1080p monitor.

I have a few friends with 1080p monitors from 21" to 24". This monitor is one of the best choices in terms of both color and physical design. I previously had a 23" Samsung PX2370 monitor that broke after 8 months. It was just my machine. A friend of mine also has a PX2370 for over a year with no problems. I personally find the PX2370 has better colors than this one Monitor. that my eyes haven't gotten used to this monitor yet. I've been looking for 23" or 24" 1080p monitors and I'm not yet disappointed with this monitor. I can't use the desktop mount with the PX2370 huh the main reason is why i chose ASUS.I will buy a desktop mount so the rocking stand is not a problem for me.Amazon pictures of this monitor turned out to be very thick.I found some other pictures on the web and it's actually very thin, thicker than the PX2370 PROS: - Very solid build - Slim profile (not as thin as the Samsung PX2370, but this monitor has a built-in power supply) - Comes with a VESA Ha - Control buttons are flush with the surface, unlike previous models - You can lift the monitor out of the vent, which feels very stable - Rap ID replacement guarantee (not sure how useful this will be if my monitor breaks but not so nice when there are no monitors around like my samsung is broken). CONS: - OK, a stand that wobbles when your table vibrates, but I don't. I don't see why that could be a problem. There are many USELESS options for adjusting color (if there were 100 possible settings, only 5 actually work). Unlike previous models, the cables run straight back rather than down. - $195 is a bit pricey. €150 would be a great new price. CONCLUSION: Get it. You can use a desk mount for this slim monitor. It will take you some time to get the right colors. The physical design is solid. I had a lot of monitors I wanted to buy after my Samsung broke. I have seen these monitors used in IGN Pro League Starcraft II tournaments. I bought this monitor immediately. There are no text haloes in this model. I will report any issues I encounter. I tested Starcraft II and Diablo 3 on this monitor. Both are going great.
