In general, a good monitor for work by a home IT specialist.

I'll just start by saying that I'm not a gamer and this review will not reflect that use case. I'm a developer/systems IT professional working from home. After many months of working with my laptop on the couch, I decided to get serious about installing a home office desktop with an additional monitor. I went with ultrawide vs 2x side-by-side as it seems like a more efficient use of space. I originally had an LG 34WN650 but it came right back as I didn't realize how much resolution would be an…

Looks good, but there are some problems.

It was a decent monitor, especially for the price we paid. It's a great size for my desk and was easy to set up on the included stand. However, it took a bit of work to get it working with a new computer I built and within a month something broke on the screen causing a solid vertical green line to appear roughly down the middle of the screen. from top to bottom. I used the monitor the night before during which time it worked fantastic and showed no signs of a problem. Computer and monitor…

Everything is fine except for the color

It's TN, so don't expect color reproduction. It's still not a bad deal. Just not one to write home about. I got it because I wanted an ultra-wide secondary monitor to match my primary gaming monitor, the ASUS IPS 280Hz 1080p model. It's not ultra-wide, but the aesthetics are nearly identical. My gaming monitor has decent colors anyway, and that doesn't mean this monitor is offensive to the eyes or anything unless you're a color snob. I would not recommend this monitor as my primary monitor for…

    I think it works fine

Works for what I need. It has a good frame rate and refresh rate, good customization, and good screen quality. The base feels a little small, it works, but I constantly have the feeling that it will fall off at the slightest impact. And the location of the HDMI/DP is pretty bad, it's in a closet so any cable you try to connect will be pinched or at a sharp angle to the connector.

Not suitable for gsync - suitable for freesync

This monitor isn't bad per se, its viewing angles are insane for a TN panel. On the other hand, picture quality and color/contrast with brightness are not very good. Freesync worked fine on my rx580, no tearing issues in testing and games I played. However, gsync compatibility on my 1660 is a different story. With the monitor at 75Hz I noticed the gameplay wasn't as smooth as on the rx580, 60fps didn't feel like 60 but was smooth enough that it couldn't be viewed as a slideshow. Adjusting the…

This is a monitor. He takes care of things.

You can see things on this monitor. Everything you want to see. The controls are a bit funky...at least for me...there's a little joystick. Maybe I'm just getting old. Is there something to monitor? Now you can.

I love ASUS! to my rating.

I had some issues but I was, however the only choice or opinion I had was that only the VEGA input needed to be switched to VEGA input to access the menus. I don't like this as I have to get DVI which I was lucky and had on hand to go into the menu and get in and then toggle it from there. I don't like it as I like my second good brand Acer monitor but it toggles to find the input I like. Just a choice but the color the LCD is a little dark with colors and darker colors which is a wonderful…

Doesn't look durable but looks great

I removed my previous review entirely because I was wrong and it wasn't helpful. Here's my attempt at making something more useful: I bought two of these monitors a few years ago, but they both died recently, so I bought two more because I like them despite their short lifespans (I'll explain more in a moment). I've had issues with new monitors not connecting to HDMI, and after mistakenly assuming HDMI doesn't work on either, I left a bad review (which has now been replaced with this one). Long

Just note that this is NOT an IPS

I just got this monitor from the UPS guy about an hour ago. It's for my new mid-range rig I've built for Titanfall (and other games) that's coming soon. All the hardware parts for my new desktop haven't arrived yet, but I immediately hooked it up to my HP Envy 6 to make sure it was working and all the pixels were ok. Of course all pixels look fine on all colors of the pixel tester I downloaded. I'm not an electronics expert so I can't give much information on technical things, but so far so…

You look great - my new review

I used a 26 inch Samsung TV as a desktop monitor for a while because it was given to me for free when a family member no longer needed it. It replaced my only 22" Acer monitor that I had previously used. So at that point I had a 26" monitor and a 22" monitor together and it looked crappy. It worked for what it was was, but having two different monitors paired together is a little pleasing to the eye. When I had enough money after a few years, I got fed up and bought two of these Asus monitors…

I've been using this monitor for a few weeks now. I replaced my 20" ASUS Eye Care monitor with this 24" model (eyes are getting old!). My smaller one had speakers, eye protection, full HD and I wanted those elements to be present on the next monitor at least. I didn't need all the "gaming" perks, but I don't regret having them! However, I can't look at this monitor from a gamer's point of view. I can say this is a great monitor! It has speakers (*BE SURE TO GO INTO MONITOR SETTINGS AND SET THE…

The best picture in its price range

Bought this monitor for my home office. I'm only interested in the image quality for office use (no gaming). This is the 5th I've bought in the last 7 years (all still work) and still haven't found a better monitor for the money. By far the best monitor for the price for working from home in terms of image quality, sharpness, text brightness. The saturation setting is particularly useful for my suite of office applications and avoids eye strain. I have tried other monitors in this price range…

After playing the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on this monitor all weekend, I noticed a difference in my gaming experience. I know some of this has to do with mental confidence, but I'm pretty sure a lot of it is down to the monitor's slow response time compared to my TV. I switched from my 47 inch Vizio TV which I tested at www.displaylag.com/ and it had a 43ms response time. In the past I often felt that when I faced an enemy I would either shoot him first or I would even see him wondering…

So far so good in my review.

This review is dedicated to the VS248H-P. I bought an Asus VE248H monitor a month ago but sent it back due to ghosting and glare and then bought this one. So far it seems to be the right choice. These are very similar monitors. The only difference I noticed is that the no trace feature actually works on this monitor, while it doesn't work on the VE monitor, resulting in horrible ghosting. Set Trace Free to 80 or 60 and there will be no ghosting on this monitor. Ideally! Colors out of the box…

    Great monitor for the price

I bought this monitor for my first computer after years of using a 15 inch laptop and it's great. I use it to watch a lot of movies, Blu-ray, DVD as well as streaming and video games. The screen is large and gives you plenty of space to work. It's bright, sharp and clear. Movies and video games look really great. It's pretty good at removing glare thanks to the matte screen.
