Review on Asus VP228QG: 21.5-Inch Screen Monitor with πŸ–₯️ 1920x1080p, 75Hz, Blue Light Filter, Built-in Speakers, & More by Rene Perry

So far so good in my review.

This review is dedicated to the VS248H-P. I bought an Asus VE248H monitor a month ago but sent it back due to ghosting and glare and then bought this one. So far it seems to be the right choice. These are very similar monitors. The only difference I noticed is that the no trace feature actually works on this monitor, while it doesn't work on the VE monitor, resulting in horrible ghosting. Set Trace Free to 80 or 60 and there will be no ghosting on this monitor. Ideally! Colors out of the box are shaky, just like every other Asus monitor review I've seen. Allow some time for calibration. Also, the viewing angles aren't great - there's a very noticeable yellow cast if you view it from any angle other than straight on - so I wouldn't recommend a dual-monitor setup. It doesn't bother me because he looks normal when I stand in front of him so it's not a problem. This monitor also bleeds at the bottom but not as much as the VE model I returned. No dead pixels, arrived on time and in good condition. Again, like every other review I've read on any Asus monitor, the stand is weak. If your desk shakes, the monitor will shake too. It's okay, but it's there. So far I'm happy with the switch. I'm giving it four stars because overall I think Asus can make some simple improvements to these monitors, but for now it's nothing I can't put up with. These monitors are cheap, so you get what you pay for - if you want amazing specs, colors, viewing angles, etc. then go for IPS. Otherwise you have to reckon with the disadvantages of cheaper TN monitors - that's just the way it is. Overall a good choice for the price. If you are deciding between the VE248H and this one, CHOOSE THIS. Like I said, they're pretty much the same, except this one does what it's supposed to.
