I used a 26 inch Samsung TV as a desktop monitor for a while because it was given to me for free when a family member no longer needed it. It replaced my only 22" Acer monitor that I had previously used. So at that point I had a 26" monitor and a 22" monitor together and it looked crappy. It worked for what it was was, but having two different monitors paired together is a little pleasing to the eye. When I had enough money after a few years, I got fed up and bought two of these Asus monitors to replace both my previous ones ( and turn a Samsung TV into what it was made for, a TV.) These monitors look amazing. They definitely have more colors than my Samsung TV, as I noticed while playing Diablo 3. On the Samsung TV everything looked dull and flat. I didn't realize it at the time as I had no comparison but when I got these monitors it was like night and day. They just look a lot better in every way. I was a little worried whether it is when we change Going from a 26-inch 1920 x 1200 monitor to a 24-inch 1920 x 1080p monitor would get cramped, but it doesn't. In fact, everything seems to fit the screen better and look better overall. I've played many games on it (Diablo 3, DOTA 2, Dishonored, Crysis 2, etc.) and there are no issues with ghosting or anything like that. Everything is fluid and there is no lag between my input and what is happening in the game. I ordered two of these at once and one arrived with no problems but the other had a hanging green pixel. I tried every method I could find to remove it but it didn't go away. I asked Amazon about it and they offered to send me a new one and said I could send the defective one back after I received the new one. The new one came in perfect condition, so I sent back the original defective one and have been using it every day since then with no problems. It's been around 4-6 months since I bought them and they still look and feel brand new. It's the exact same monitor, but the right one looks about 5mm lower than the left. Not really a problem, but it would be nice if they were 100% perfectly matched. It might just be that they are angled differently so I could fix that, but it's actually not bothersome at all so I wasn't worried. So if you're looking for a new monitor, get this one!
