I've been using this monitor for a few weeks now. I replaced my 20" ASUS Eye Care monitor with this 24" model (eyes are getting old!). My smaller one had speakers, eye protection, full HD and I wanted those elements to be present on the next monitor at least. I didn't need all the "gaming" perks, but I don't regret having them! However, I can't look at this monitor from a gamer's point of view. I can say this is a great monitor! It has speakers (*BE SURE TO GO INTO MONITOR SETTINGS AND SET THE VOLUME TO 100%. DEFAULT IS SET TO 50% - if you only use computer/laptop volume controls people will complain about "weak speakers". ). The stereo speakers are 1.5W and they're loud enough for me and I stream a lot. Again, gamers might want to hook up additional speakers for really loud sound effects, but the average user won't need them. The stand is sturdy and adjustable in height, tilt, swivel and swivel (fully horizontal or vertical). It can also be converted to VESA if you want to install it. It comes with HDMI, RCA audio and USB cables and the stand features a cable management slot on the back. Re: HDMI cable doesn't fit - I used the one I've used on another Asus monitor and it fits perfectly with no issues. I have not tried the cable that came with the monitor. This is a quality monitor at a very reasonable price! I highly recommend it!
