This review is for Zak Designs Disney Minnie Mouse Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Travel Glass. It's a pretty glass with a white background and muted pink/purple/blue/yellow images including Minnie Mouse of course. The overall look is a little different than most travel mugs I've seen. This one has a very smooth and glossy finish while the others have a matte finish with a light texture for grip. It's not bad, just different. One thing that surprised me about this is the height of almost 9 inches. It is significantly higher than that of an ordinary glass. The lid is a typical plastic cup lid with a silicone seal, only pink instead of the usual clear plastic. And although the lid closes well, I don't like the design of the sliding mechanism used to open/close the drinking spout. It's too hard and tends to stick. Instead of the typical sliding guide design, grooves with raised lugs are used here, which fit into the grooves by sliding back and forth. These tabs grab the sides to hold the slider in place, tend to stick and sometimes require more force than usual to open/close. I really think it will be difficult for a child to work with, sometimes with the effort required. Also, I would expect these plastic tabs not to last long and eventually break since they aren't that thick. The bottom line is that the jar itself is cute and keeps drinks hot/cold well, but this lid has issues and needs. different design.
