Review on Hudson Baby Booties Heather Charcoal Boys' Shoes for Boots by Eric Avina

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really warm and well made

We bought these in size 0-6 months for our boy when he was 4 months old. It was very age appropriate. He turned 6 months a few weeks ago and we had to stop using them because they were too tight in the weeks leading up to his 6 month year. Our baby is 91st percentile for height and 45th percentile for weight. WHO chart during our recent visit to the well. My guess is that his size was the reason they didn't fit until he was 6 months old, which is the upper limit for these booties. I have found that they still fit now when I want to wear them really tight. I have noticed on our little one's feet that his toes get red at the corners and fill with pus as happens when a toenail digs into a corner or when tight shoes/socks are used. As soon as I noticed this, I experimented with not using these boots. Of course they cleaned up. Then when I had to use them again on a cold winter night I saw one of my big toes in this condition right after I took them off so we stopped using them. We used them very often for 1-2 months. We had them and I highly recommend them. They have a sherpa lining which makes them very warm and a great option for winter and cold weather. We live in Colorado and have worn them on our son in temperatures ranging from -10 to 30 degrees, with organic socks underneath. When I come home and take them off, his feet feel warm. Once, slipping them over a sleeper with no socks, I really felt like his feet ended up on the colder side afterwards. So depending on the temperature outside I would recommend wearing socks underneath even if you are using a clawfoot sleeper. Also, I really liked having this brand's neutral tan tone, which I couldn't find in most other brands. It goes perfectly with every outfit and sweater/jacket our kid has. I'm currently waiting for a set of Goumi booties to ship. Depending on how they behave in the cold, I will come back to buy them in a larger size.
