Dangerous, exposes the blade if placed anywhere Handle convex like a box

I bought this mandolin thinking it would be safe. I'm paranoid about mandolins and how hard they can cut. While this mandolin may appear safe, it is actually very dangerous. If you put this in a drawer, over time opening and closing the drawer or any action that hits the handle will cause the blade to rise until the edge is exposed. I know this because my husband cut his hand last night while looking in the drawer for something else, even though I thought I had it in a safe place and a safe way. The entire edge of the blade was exposed, and it was only a miracle that he didn't cut his hand wide, but cut it a finger deep. Very unhappy with this lack of security. The blade should have a lock. Anyway, we now know the only way to store this is wrapped in a towel or something that will prevent anything else from touching the handle. Edited to add: We found a fix that prevents platform movement and blade exposure. when the device is not in use. Insert the bolt through the space between the platform and the handle. Take it off temporarily to use the mandolin and put it back when you're done. See image.
