Review on JARLINK (Upgraded Dock Version) Vertical Laptop Stand by Daniel Warren

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stable stand, not as narrow as stated.

The stand is nice and heavy with silicone on the bottom to make you feel good and secure when carrying your devices. I ordered this stand on purpose because the listing says each slot has a minimum width of 12mm, which is smaller than any similar listing I've found on Revain. I have an Asus Zenbook UX305, which is only 12.3mm thick at its fastest point, and I wanted to make sure I was going for a secure fit without much wiggle room. In reality, however, the minimum width can be closer to 13 mm, which leaves some wiggle room. I decided the difference wasn't enough to pose a big problem and my laptop is still reasonably secure, but first thought about adding some sort of padding to isolate it even more. The mechanism for adjusting this stand is different from some that have a side handle. Access to the controls is only possible from below. These are the screws that you loosen to allow the pieces to slide freely. It's difficult to keep the parts from shifting slightly when the stand is lifted to attach it, making fine-tuning a bit tricky. Unless you're a big perfectionist with a millimeter or two in one direction or the other, this is a solid and reliable build. The two sides are independently adjustable, and the stand comes with a small Allen key for these adjustments and an extra screw. just in case something happens (although I can't imagine what). If you have a laptop on the thicker side, the silicone pads on the bottom of the slots may not protect your laptop as they cover a smaller portion of the bottom of the slot. Gaps continue to open.
