My son loves his "shark shoes" for a fun day out. They have a small plastic clip and the cord is elastic so it stays on your feet instead of stretching them. He didn't slip while running from his father at the water park. I love the rule that kids can't walk at the water park, but they so seldom follow it without a Pavlovian reaction to the security guard's whistle. The only problem I have is that the cord is wrapped around a thin cord at the connection point. and finally, towards the end of the show, the joint moved and began to unravel. A few gentle strokes brought it back to a place where it wouldn't interfere with putting on the shoe. We had a day where he wore shoes to the water park for 7-9 hours and they rubbed a tiny blister on his foot. . We didn't notice this during our pool break and occasionally take off our shoes to check our servant's feet. We noticed this later in the day as we were getting ready to go home. The next time we put little stockings on him, he no longer had a blister on his leg.
