I decided to buy a new desktop computer with an Intel 630 UHD graphics card and when it arrived it connected and worked right away and it was the clearest, highest resolution monitor I've ever had. I had an old slow laptop whose graphics card supported this. If you're buying a 4K UHD monitor, make sure you have a modern 4K or UHD graphics card or it won't play. I use HDMI and I find it excellent for post-processing the full-frame digital images that my top three cameras capture, which currently have much better resolution than regular laptop screens, unless your laptop is $1500-$2500 with everything included. I got frustrated and spent the money to buy a mass market HP laptop which is now mothballed but this monitor is fine with the right graphics card. The sound is sufficient, but not outstanding. Tomorrow I will have a separate 15" stereo speaker.
