Easy to set up aquarium - ideal for novice aquarists

We are new to fishkeeping and bought this aquarium after my daughter adopted 2 guppies from friends who had moved. The fish didn't look happy or healthy when she brought them home. They were kept in an aquarium no larger than a Tupperware container for over a year. One of the fish barely moved in his old tank but when we moved him to his new home he immediately became very active! We found the aquarium easy to set up. I felt like an idiot but the instructions don't mention adjusting the decor before adding water. Spirit. As I said, we are new to fish farming. I love that these aquariums have decoration sets that are very easy to decorate. I would recommend setting up the aquarium a week before introducing the fish. We didn't and I was afraid we would lose the fish as after a few days the water smelled a bit like ammonia. Now it is ok. I do 10% water changes at least once a week, which the fish seem to enjoy. The first time they hid, but now they come out to play every time they see a siphon. Fish don't like bright LED settings. When we use the light, we set it to the lowest level on the remote control. A lot of reviews complain about the noisy filter, but it's a lot quieter than the cheap tanks they used to be. The only reason I'm not giving this tank 5 stars is the fire hazard. The tank comes with a warning stating that placing a full tank in direct light may concentrate the rays and cause a fire. We wanted to put the tank in our living room but there is a wall of windows and the light changes with the seasons. I'm afraid to take risks. If I had known we were putting it in our office I probably would have chosen a cube that would look better on our shelves.
