I am an American student studying for a semester abroad in the UK. I've been using this adapter for 6 months and couldn't survive without it. Every day I charge my iPad, iPhone and portable battery via USB ports and so far I haven't had any problems. I have used this adapter throughout the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy and the Czech Republic. While the extension is good, the adapter doesn't have to be 100% usable, but it's a nice bonus. Most of the time, I just pack the adapter in my backpack and take it to campus to charge my laptop. Like most students, I don't take very good care of the things I own. This adapter was also in each of my checked bags and has survived all trips. This is a real test of the strength of the product.
