I bought this adapter to connect an old VGA monitor to a new nVidia graphics card in a three monitor system. The graphics card has three different outputs; DP, HDMI and DVI. You can use all three at the same time if you like. This adapter was clearly for an HDMI connection. I bought another brand adapter for the DP port to compare the quality. Admittedly not a very exciting experiment, but I'm satisfied because both work as intended. Windows 10 correctly identified the old monitor through the passive analog adapter and can send it any resolution it wants. To be honest I was surprised at how good everything looked and how easy it all came together. I see no reason to overpay for such an adapter. It does the job. I had never heard of Moread before but the reviews were good enough to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The flexible cable between the two ends allows me to place the computer unit closer to the wall than if it were a monolithic unit. I didn't want a 4 inch plastic lever sticking out of the back of my computer so I got this one. So far, so good. Everything communicates correctly through this adapter.
