We use this tape to mark the red areas of church pews where people cannot sit during the pandemic. We use this tape to minimize damage to the benches when we remove the tape again. But even this tape will remove the paint from old benches if left on long enough. So I can't say if this tape will damage the finish of the surfaces it's applied to, but it's definitely better than tape with more adhesion. And the adhesion of these bands is sufficient as they appear to remain in place even as each pew is disinfected after each service. So the grip seems pretty good. The colors are bright enough to be noticed. The tape is great for our purposes. I would recommend duct tape.
