I wasn't sure what to expect after reading various reviews but I have a problem with raccoons and wanted to keep them off my porch (at least since I can't keep them out of my yard). From what others have written I figured flashing lights plus a voice signal plus an alarm would be just the ticket. And since I hung this, there hasn't been a single raccoon on my porch. I wish there was a way to set it up so you would have a light with a voice OR an alarm, as well as the ability to turn off the sound. sound and light. Ideally, I'd like to have Off (natural), Mute (light only), Light + Alarm, Light + Voice Alert, and Light + Alarm + Voice Alert. It would help in my situation because I might change it from time to time (although raccoons are amazingly smart so they might figure it out in time too). Possibility. This was a problem for me because the holes you put screws in are so small and long that my handy electric screwdriver won't fit, and since I don't have an electric drill that's likely to work, or even a thin enough regular screwdriver , I somehow lost. Yes, yes, I'm a woman who occasionally uses a butter knife instead of a screwdriver or high heels instead of a hammer, so unfortunately my tool kit is pretty thin. I ended up using velcro straps to attach to the deck and back of the EyeWatch and so far so good. I expect it to fall over at some point, but it's been lying there for over a month and it's still hanging, um, no pun intended, heh (I have a chair underneath in case it falls over, it won't fall far and in a comfortable one landing pillow). Also positive (aside from doing what I bought it for) it's also very sensitive at dusk. To me this is a huge bonus as the critters tend to roam around at dusk and dawn in search of food. It's also quite loud and made me wince a few times when I forgot. It also goes on and on with every move, so when the novelty wears off it's definitely going to be a nasty irritant to the stubborn raccoon. I also like that it's sunny so I don't have to worry about changing batteries or realize I need to change batteries because I'm not walking the streets at night (or at dusk or dawn). So four stars for me Das; If I could screw it up (i.e. the holes would be wider) and it had an additional setting other than turning off the sound, just the lights or whatever, I'd really like that.
