My favorite bow or rifle hook. Compact but big enough. Light rubber coating. Point locks are open or closed, so you can confidently carry it in your pocket or clip it to a tree without fear of it collapsing on your knuckles. Also, you can attach the carabiner anywhere to carry it around. Once you're up the tree, you'll likely be able to hook something to that carabiner as well. I have a few temporary stand hooks, but if I had to pick just one, it would be this one.
