I received these and immediately after contacting them suspected they were not 12 gauge wire as listed. I have been soldering and assembling microphone, instrument and speaker cables for about 5 years. I've dealt with a lot of speaker cables. Upon closer inspection I would guess that it is made of 14AWG wire or maybe even 16AWG. I have not completely disassembled the connector as I will be returning it to Revain. I don't have a good measuring tool with me, but I can do a quick visual comparison with a piece of Monoprice 12AWG speaker wire. I have attached a photo. I sloppily stripped the black wire of the Monoprice cable. As measured with plastic calipers, the stripped Monoprice wire is about the same diameter as the unstripped wire going to the Speakon connector. Treat this with a grain of salt. I just feel in my gut that this is wrong. I really want to just cut it into pieces, take a micrometer and count the number of threads to prove it's not 12AWG, but I'm sending it back for a refund.
