My Crestie mix has an 18" chest measurement behind the legs, which is a medium according to the size chart. Even adjusted as tight as possible, the medium size was huge on my dog. The D rings were too large to accommodate the clip on a leash appropriate to her size. My dog's chest is 17" so I ordered a large per the sizing info. The medium is listed here as going up to 16.5" and then large starts at 17". When I received the harness today, the packaging says it is for chest size 18-23" so it is too big for him. Ordered the blue, in large. (From the warehouse, excellent condition & price), for our large minpin, Coopy. He weighs 22 lbs, has a 21 inch chest, and the large fit well. The front straps could be loosened to fit a larger chest, but the back ones are almost at their longest, so would only give another inch or two. I like that both sides can be adjusted individually. Just fyi, your mileage may vary, but I measured my dog, and she should fit the small perfectly, per the description. In fact, the part that goes around her underneath fits. The part that goes around in front of her front legs is too long, even when tightened. So be aware, for a ten pound dog, this may or may not fit. We use this harness on our 8lb yorkie and a 10lb poodle mix- one is built like a barrel and the other is svelte like a whippet. Amazingly it works for both, and neither have slipped out. Love these.

2nd Gooby harness. 1st was a neoprene, escape free harness, which worked very well, and loved it. Did not need escape free when puppy grew older. The new harness has 4 point adjustment which helps with a frenchies growing chest and body. Secure but lightweight. The neck line is great for No Choking. This model was a little small for my growing puppy but great for most other breeds. Most important to stay with gooby for that wonderful v-neck line. Thanks Gooby.

Fits our small statured 11 lb terrier a bit too loose. We live in a colder climate so on top of sweaters etc this is still going to work this winter. Wish this came in extra small.

Pugs are notoriously hard to fit. Lots of rolls. My guy is a year old, 18 pounds, 20 inch neck. Large fits nice! Seems to be comfortable!

Love this harness! My dog is a pretty bad puller when she’s excited and this harness has helped relieve a lot of tension around her neck went on leash. I have the largest size for my dog who is about 55 pounds and a German shepherd mix, and the harness fits her just right.

Small dogs, especially Yorikis are susceptible to trachea collapse. Using a harness like this from puppyhood could help your friend avoid that serious condition. This is my second harness. The first lasted many years before the snap connector failed. One note is the newer version seems to be rougher, not as comfortable as the old version. But the dog doesn't seem to notice and it works great.

I’ve had a few harnesses for my Schnauzer Chihuahua mix, he’s about 20 pounds, but many of the harnesses in his size go kind of high up and when he pulls presses on his windpipe. This one has a nice low V in the front, so it’s very comfortable and doesn’t put pressure- no more coughing and choking! It’s a little bit on the lightweight side so I’m not sure how sturdy it will be. But for a small dog it should be great.

Gooby is a great brand of harness. I have a few others. I was so happy to see the color blocking options in this particular harness. My pups have long fur, so usually I nor anyone else can usually "see” their harnesses because they are usually black straps and the color is in the chest piece. Not with these!
